Harry Kane was the hero again for Tottenham Hotspur as his goal against Borussia Dortmund saw them win 1-0 on the night and 4-0 on aggregate in the Champions League round of 16.England captain Kane belted the ball home from a fine Moussa Sissoko assist to put Spurs into the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time since 2011.10

The goal was another major milestone in the 25-year-old’s career as he netted his 24th European goal – a new club record.He beats the achievement of Jermain Defoe who only beat Martin Chivers’ back in 2014 when he was on his way out of White Hart Lane as their rotational striker.Defoe hit seven goals in five Europa League games with his penultimate goal for the club, against FC Sheriff, earning him top spot ahead of legendary forward Chivers.Now, though, Kane is ahead of both and seems likely to create a record which will be hard to beat for the many strikers to come in the future.So who are Tottenham’s elite European goalscoring heroes? The Europa League saw the start of Kane’s European goalscoring. His first came against Shamrock Rovers in 2011 but he had the chance to break his duck earlier, missing a penalty against Hearts in the same campaign. He’s more than made up for it an now has 14 goals in 17 Champions League matches.
