Thierry Henry: Arsenal legend’s arrogance behind his sacking as Monaco manager, French journalist tells talkSPORT
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is ‘a failure as a manager’ and paid the price for his arrogance with his job as Monaco boss.Thats according to French football journalist Erik Bielderman of L’Equipe.Monaco announced on Thursday in a short statement that they suspended Henry, who won just four of his 20 matches aftertaking charge in October, before officially confirming his departure a day later.

And Bielderman joined talkSPORT on Friday to explain just where it went wrong for the French icon. The number of points they have won is not good enough, he told Jim White on talkSPORT, before Henry’s sacking was confirmed. You cant imagine this is the same club that were Champions League semi-finalists two years ago.Thierry Henry is a failure as a manager. Hes more behaving like a player, the way he talks to the players and the way he talks to the media, its like hes still a player.Sometimes its like he feels hes such a great player that he cant afford to play with this group.Bielderman says Thierry Henry is still behaving like a player, and not as a manager1

The dressing room has dropped him and he will be sacked. Its a nightmare. It makes me think of Gary Neville when he went to Valencia, they are tremendous on TV when theyre giving their opinions, but when you go to clubs like Monaco and Valencia, they are not easy clubs to manage because they are big clubs and they are under pressure. To have your first job in such turmoil, that can kill your long-term ambitions as a manager.
